01What it will do
Veris Scan runs entirely on-device. No images are uploaded. No API calls are made during scanning. It extracts structured data from physical documents and returns typed fields.
It is an OCR extraction product - not a document authentication product. It reads what's printed on a document; it does not detect forgeries.
02Supported document types
The SDK will support 9 document types across two categories:

Auto-detection (AUTO_DETECT) will also be available - the SDK will classify across all 9 types and return DOCUMENT_TYPE_UNKNOWN if confidence is below 80%.
03Plan access
Veris Scan requires Launch or higher. Attempting to use the Scan SDK on a Spark or Build subscription returns ScanFailure(reason: PLAN_NOT_SUPPORTED) immediately - no crash, no camera access.
04Integrates with Veris Compare
Veris Scan will extract the face photo from identity documents where one is present (Driver's Licence, National ID, Passport, Voter's Card). The extracted face image (faceImageBase64) can be passed directly to Veris Compare as the reference image for document-to-selfie matching.
